Today's
nail of the day is Essie's Bikini So Teeny from the Summer 2012
collection
2 Coats, Natural Light |
It is a
light blue polish with a hint of purple in it. The color is
interesting because it is too blue to be a true periwinkle, but too
purple to be a sky blue. Similarly, it is too dark to be a pastel and
too muted to be neon, but it looks both bright and light on the
nails. It also has a very small amount of silver shimmer. It is
visible in the bottle in the picture below, but on the nails it is so
subtle that it disappears altogether.
2 Coats, Direct Sunlight |
The
formula of Bikini So Teeny is flawless. It glides on evenly and is opaque
in 2 coats. It also stays on the nails much better than most cremes.
I think it has something to do with the silver shimmer (ok, so
technically it isn't a true creme, but it sure looks like one on the
nails!). After 4 days it hasn't chipped at all, and only has minimal
wear on the tips.
What's
not to love about this polish? It has an adorable name and an amazing
formula. The color is unique and great for both spring and summer. Since it is the
perfect blend between periwinkle and sky blue, it will
flatter all skin tones. Even though I love periwinkle polishes in the
bottle, they tend to look strange against my skin. If you find that
you have the same problem, this toned down version will be perfect
for you too! The Bikini So Teeny collection is currently in stores
and retails for $8 a bottle.
Do you ever buy a nail
polish because it has such a cute name you just can't resist?
